It is not the old school anymore. It takes a customer 10 to 20 seconds to look and find your page interesting, useful or boring.

It is estimated that about 30 million US Households have computers. Ten to fifteen million homes have modems which enable them to go online. According to various forecasts, between 140 and 170 million households will have home computers by the end of the year 2006. The number of households with access to Internet services like the World Wide Web is estimated to grow to somewhere between 60 and 75 million by the end of this decade (Cyberstats, John Pike, Federation of American Scientists).

By the year 2007, there will be 150 million host computers connected to the Net. The Internet Society maintains a set of charts, tables and current metric graphs. These include a timeline of the overall growth of the Internet. In the February 2006 survey we received responses from 76,184,000 sites, an increase of 933K from January's total. This month's survey finds different trends emerging in hostnames and active site continues its strong growth with an increase of 1.3 million hostnames for the month, adding nearly a full point to its commanding market share lead.
